Fishing Report 10/7/14

 

 

 

 

  • Lake Almanor: Lake is low but Trout  starting to take smelt; watch for birds and surface activity. Smallmouth fishing well during the afternoons.
  • Butt Valley Res.  Power house has been running and big fish are present; Nymphs, wooly buggers and pondsmelt are working. Midge hatch in main lake.
  • Eagle Lake: Low water but  fish are in starting to show in the shallows. Wiggle tails, midges and streamers all work.
  • Susan River: Very low levels.   
  • North Fork of the Feather: River is  low but October Caddis are starting to show.
  • Warner Creek: Small hatch in the evenings also low.
  • Deer Creek: low; try dark nymphs; Fall colors are great.  
  • Mill Creek: Fishing well.  
  • Hamilton Branch: Most fish are in the lower section, some dry fly action in upper section.
  • Yellow Creek: Summertime coditions.   
  • Goodrich Creek: Very low.   
  • Upper Lakes: Crater and Silver fishing well. 
  • Antelope Lake: Lake level is good and starting to fish well. 
  • Walker and Round Valley: Lowering.
