Fishing Report for the Lake Almanor Basin and neighboring waters.

Alot of water this year should make an outstanding season! HEX are hatching!!

Lakes

Lake Almanor - the center piece of our waters.  Trout, small and large mouth bass.

 LOCATION

Lake is in great shape and very full. Hex hatch is on! Best report is from the Dam north. Big Rainbows and browns are taking nymphs mostly in the evening and dry right before dark. Mouth of Feather has some fish on calibaties an black caddis. Bass are off beds and also eating hex.

Butt Valley Reservoir - situated above Lake Almanor

LOCATION

Power house is open has been running and fish are on creekside and main channel. Lake is fishing alot like Almanor on hexes by the dam.

Eagle Lake - a popular destination for the famous Eagle Lake Trout.

Eagle Lake: Lake has come up alot and starting to picking up; wiggle tails and midges.

Private Waters - Lassen Meadows - a private ranch minutes from the shop in Chester, CA.  Special entrance fee and guiding required.  Ideal for all experience anglers.

Upper Lakes -Carter lake and Silver lake open and good reports.

 LOCATIONS

 

 
Antelope Lake - high above Taylorsville.  LOCATION
Indian creek is lowering and should be a good summer. Antelope is full and improving.

Walker Lake aka Mountain Meadows Reservoir
 LOCATION
Good shape. 147 to clear creek closed all summer due to bridge reconstuction.
 

 

Streams

Upper Feather River and Warner Creek- the beginning of our watershed with many feeder springs and streams. Early evening guiding avaialble.

 

 RIVER IS VERY HIGH ABOVE DIVERSION DAM, THE BEST BET IS BELOW DAM TO MOUTH. SWINGING WOOLY BUGGERS HAS BEEN GOOD and GOLDEN STONES. feather_river_fall.jpg

Yellow Creek - A remote stream accessed from the West side of Lake Almanor. Road is rough and the stream is in good shape, green drake are showning up.

 

 

Deer Creek- Fish are taking stone fly nymph and prince nymph.

 
Goodrich Creek -High and clear.   
Hamilton Branch -Improving with fish moving in.  
Mill Creek - High and off color.   
Susan River -Good shape as good as any stream around.
