Fishing Report 6/24/15

 

 

 

 

  • Lake Almanor: Lake surface temps are in the low 70's;  Smallmouth are on the bite around stumps; crawdad paterns are working well. Callibaetis are happening around mid day with pods of rainbow after them. Browns taking streamers. HEX HATCH IS IN FULL SWING best hatch in years; BIG fish being caught!
  • Butt Valley Res.  HEX hatching in main lake MOSTLY BY DAM, GOOD HATCH. Smallies are biting. Stream and power house is open, some fish caught on stream side.
  • Eagle Lake: Fishing well; scuds and leech paterns working best; lake is warming, fish going to deeper water
  • Susan River: Open, fish now before it drops much.   
  • North Fork of the Feather: Summertime levels, best report from town to mouth.
     Warner Creek; low condition.
  • Deer Creek: Good shape. Good dry fly action in the afternoon. 
  • Mill Creek: Fishing in the morning is best but there is an evening hatch hatch. Dark flies work best.  
  • Hamilton Branch: Some fish are in lower section were lake begins but some good fishing up stream all the way to Walker lake.
  • Yellow Creek: Open and is in good shape.   
  • Goodrich Creek: Open but low.
  • Upper Lakes: Sliver is worth checking out; Crater fishing well.
  • Antelope Lake: Lake is full and fish are on the bite.
  • Walker and Round Valley: Bass are starting to bite.
