Fishing Report for the Lake Almanor Basin and neighboring waters

Lot's of water this year and lakes are full. Stream are in good shape. Have a great summer.

Lakes

Lake Almanor - the center piece of our waters.  Trout, small and large mouth bass.

 LOCATION

Lake surface temps are in the upper 60's, lake is  still full.  Fish are moving out into the lake to feed on pond smelt. Bass are still deep. Big pods of pond smelt are around, fish should be on them soon.

Butt Valley Reservoir - situated above Lake Almanor

LOCATION

Powerhouse is been on and fish are in. Lake temps are in the 60's.

Eagle Lake - a popular destination for the famous Eagle Lake Trout.

Eagle Lake: Slow but picking; some fish caught by Chirsty campround.

Private Waters - Lassen Meadows - a private ranch minutes from the shop in Chester, CA.  Special entrance fee and guiding required.  Ideal for all experience anglers.

Upper Lakes -Crater and Silver fishing well.

Antelope Lake - high above Taylorsville in Indian Valley  LOCATION

Fishing has been picking up.
 
Walker Lake aka Mountain Meadows Reservoir
 LOCATION
Full and planted with rainbows.
 

 

Streams

Upper Feather River and Warner Creek- the beginning of our watershed with many feeder springs and streams. Early evening guiding avaialble.

 

 Is in good shape; Stoneflies, hatch are slowing. Oct. caddis should happen soon. feather_river_fall.jpg

Yellow Creek - A remote stream accessed from the West side of Lake Almanor.

Running clear, some small hatches; afternoon is the best.

 

Deer Creek -

Slowing down.

 
Goodrich Creek - Above walker lake has been slow.  
Hamilton Branch - Fish are in, alot of fish and big ones.  
Mill Creek - Fishing well.  
Susan River -Has been planted.
