Fishing Report 9/1/15

 

 

 

 

  • Lake Almanor: Lake surface temps are in the high 60s;  Smallmouth biting by drop off's.  Fish are starting to chase POND SMELT but has been hit or miss. Trout are mostly in the springs but water is cooling so they should start moving out and hunting pond smelt.
  • Butt Valley Res. Smallies are biting. Stream and power house  is good; powerhouse has been running.
  • Eagle Lake: Fish are still in deeper water but should be moving in shallows soon with cooler evenings.
  • Susan River: Low and warm.   
  • North Fork of the Feather: Low levels, some evening hatch and water temps are holding in there.
     Warner Creek; low condition.
  • Deer Creek:  Good dry fly action in the afternoon below Falls. 
  • Mill Creek: Evening hatch, Dark flies work best.  
  • Hamilton Branch: Fish are in lower section by and above power house outlet in big numbers; has been good, lots of angler's. Fishing up stream all the way to Walker lake also has been good; good evening hatch.
  • Yellow Creek: Good shape but tough fishing; some hoppers.   
  • Goodrich Creek: Low.
  • Upper Lakes: Sliver is worth checking out; Crater fishing best in years.
  • Antelope Lake:  Fish are on the bite.
  • Walker and Round Valley: Bass fishing has been good.
